FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Back In Action
April 18, 2008The Pulse of Radio reports that FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH resumes its live schedule on Friday night (April 18) in Sayreville, New Jersey, performing for the first time since canceling a tour two months ago. The band had to pull off the road when singer Ivan Moody was diagnosed with a throat problem, but he told The Pulse of Radio that the time off was just what he needed. "The throat is fine," he said. "It's actually probably ten-fold of what it was towards the end there. I started developing calluses in the back of my throat, sat down and talked to a couple of doctors, and they gave me an ultimatum. They said, you know, you can keep going and possibly have nodes, or you can take a little bit of time away and prepare yourself for what's to come. In the long run, I think it's beneficial, I think we came out on top, so everything's cool."
The band recently announced the release of a brand new song called "Never Enough", which will be available as a free download to fans who have already bought or are now buying the band's debut album, "The Way of the Fist". In order to obtain the song, fans must go to fivefingerdeathpunch.com/bonus and insert the CD into their computers, after which the track can be accessed.
"The Way of the Fist" will be re-released on May 3 with "Never Enough" and two additional new tracks included.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH will play some headlining shows next week before beginning a U.S. trek with DISTURBED on April 27 in Wichita, Kansas. The group will also appear on this summer's Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour with DISTURBED and SLIPKNOT.
